This was the pilot for our new Tail Trails event. We were delighted to be hosting the event in beautiful Silverdale in Morecambe Bay.
The event comprised a ‘short trail (approx 5km)’ and ‘long trail (approx 10km)’. Competitors were welcome to choose either trail to run or walk with their dog. At the end of the trail finish line there was some fun lighthearted dog challenges for dog to complete!

We would like to extend a thanks to all of our fabulous volunteers who helped marshal the event; the amazing village hall committee who laid on am amazing spread for us and made us feel very much at home; the Oak Tree Animal Charity girls and the Kendal Leisure Centre guys who got stuck in to help us out on the field; the National Trust; the local farming community; Carnforth Pet Care for vet support; the local residents of Silverdale who seemed to enjoy the event and some wanted to take part next time(!); the Morecambe Bay Partnership; Ruffwear; Podgy Paws Pet Shop and many other individuals and organisations who helped out directly or indirectly.
Considerate event management: We are proud to be organising our event in conjunction with the Morecambe Bay Partnership, the National Trust in Silverdale, local farmers, landowners and residents. It is really important that our canine (and human) friends don’t disturb lambing sheep, local residents, wildlife habitats and birds who have travelled thousands of miles to nest in this beautiful area. Our event is all about having the best fun possible with your dog in a responsible manner and on a lead – as a team!
We are delighted that the fab Oak Tree Animals’ Charity are supporting our events and joined us at Silverdale on April 8th.
We were also delighted to announce that Ruffwear UK are supporting our events and donated some of their awesome #Ruffwear kit for the doggy-winners!
